Sioux Falls Police: Arrests Made in High-Stakes Street Racing
Last September we wrote about the street racing issue in Sioux Falls. Residents were fuming on social media about hearing it every night, sometimes till 3 AM. You can see that story here.
A few weeks after the article, on October 9, Sioux Falls police were called to an area near North Sycamore Avenue near the intersection with East Benson Road and found up to 50 super-charged vehicles with evidence of street racing.
A Sioux Falls Police press release on Thursday (February 15) indicated that after a lengthy investigation, arrests have finally been made.
It also indicated that these were not merely street races, but a high stakes dangerous game involving cash to the winners. Although not named, the racing even had a sponsor.
