Sioux Falls Now Lets You License Your Pet Online

Pet owners in Sioux Falls have a new way to license their favorite four-legged family mermber.

During Tuesday's Sioux Falls Police briefing, the department announced that they have agreed with DocuPet to make licensing dopgs and cats available online.

The licenses, which are valid for one to three years, are currently $5 per year if the pet is spayed or neutered, $25 per year if they are not.

The new system will replace licensing by veterinarian clinics in the city. Pet owners will still have the option of registering their dogs and cats at the Law Enforcement Center.

Sioux Falls requires any pet six months or older to be licensed and vaccinated for rabies. There is a $107.50 fine for owners who don’t obtain a license.
