Loaded Gun Confiscated by Sioux Falls Airport TSA Agents
For the fourth time in the first six months of 2023, a loaded gun has been confiscated by security at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport.
Dakota News Now is reporting that Tuesday (June 6), a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent spotted a handgun on x-ray while screening carry-on baggage.
The gun was loaded and was confiscated by TSA who then contacted both the Sioux Falls Police Department and the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office.

No word yet on the identity of the passenger or whether any charges will be filed.
The maximum fine for bringing weapons to the airport is $14,950.
According to TSA, this was the fourth firearm detected at FSD so far in 2023. Last year, nine firearms were detected at FSD security checkpoints.
