
Big Retail Chain Brings New Store to Minnesota – Here’s Where
The trend for big national chains lately has not been good. Whether it's Joann Fabrics closing all of its stores nationwide or Advance Auto Parts shuttering 700 locations, it seems like 'less is more' is the current business model for the majority of retail giants.
But one group is bucking that trend.
In March, Ross Stores said it had added 19 locations to its roster this month, including a new store in Minnesota.

New Ross Dress for Less Stores in Minnesota
The new 26,000 square foot Ross Dress For Less in Inver Grove Heights, MN (1426 Mendota Rd E, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077) opened its doors on March 8th.
It's the second new store in the North Star state for the Dublin, California-based chain. The first-ever Ross location opened in Rochester last July (4603 Maine Ave in the Shoppes on Maine Shopping Center).
Overall, the chain has added stores in 14 different states in March, and they aren't stopping there. The plan is for 80 new Ross locations over the course of the fiscal year 2025.

Ross Dress for Less History
Ross Dress for Less began as Ross Department Store in San Bruno, California in 1950. It grew into a small local chain. In the early '80s, investors bought the small chain and expanded it to hundreds of stores.
At the beginning of 2025 company operated 2,205 Ross Dress for Less stores and DD's Discounts stores in the United States.

Last year, Ross opened 75 stores and generated nearly $21.13 billion in sales overall.
