Iowa Celebrates $1 Million Powerball Win
While the longest top jackpot drought in Powerball history continues, some lucky player in Iowa is settling for a pretty decent 'consolation prize.
Iowa Lottery officials said a winning $1 million Powerball ticket was sold at the Vinton Kwik Star Saturday night (December 20). The winning ticket matched all five white balls, missing the Powerball.
The owner of the ticket has until June 18, 2026, to claim their prize.

The Powerball is now up to $1.6 billion for tonight's (December 22) drawing. No one has matched all five numbers and the Powerball for 46 consecutive drawings - which is a new record.
Meanwhile, lottery officials in the Hawkeye state are still looking for someone to come forward and claim a huge jackpot.
A $3 million prize is still unclaimed a month after it was won. The winning Mega Millions ticket was purchased at the Kwik Star in Norwalk. It matched the first five numbers in the November 11 drawing.
The winning numbers that night were 10-13-40-42-46 and the Mega Ball was 1.
Mega Millions prizes won in Iowa must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing, which is May 10, 2026.
