Iowa Ice Run Leads to Big Lottery Payout
Very rarely do you feel good when you go to the store only to discover that the very item you came there for is out of stock.
But that exact scenario had a VERY happy outcome for a Fort Dodge, Iowa woman.
Out of ice
According to the Iowa Lottery, Heather Cole was driving her three kids to their dentist appointments in Mason City when they stopped for drinks at a gas station. That store was out of ice, so they made another stop at Coalville Stop-N-Shop where Cole decided to buy a couple of 'Silver Streak' scratch tickets.
Pressing her luck
After unveiling a $20 winning ticket, the clerk asked Cole if she wanted to purchase any additional tickets. Cole opted to buy two more and promptly scratched off a $100,000 winner.

She claimed her prize this week and plans to use her winnings to pay off debt and take a family vacation this summer.
Not the first big winner
Cole is the second person to claim a $100,000 top prize in Silver Streak, which was just released on May 6.
