UPDATE: Big Traffic Jam Coming to Busy Sioux Falls Intersection
(**UPDATE: THE DATE OF THE PROJECT HAS CHANGED TO 12/18 BECAUSE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER**)
If you thought traffic at one of Sioux Falls' busiest intersections couldn't get any worse, try navigating it without signals.
That's exactly what is going to happen Wednesday (December 18), at the intersection of Russell Street and Minnesota Avenue, just south of the Sioux Falls Regional Airport.
After the morning commute, the traffic signals at the intersection will be turned off and replaced by an all-way stop to allow City of Sioux Falls Traffic Maintenance crews to work on the traffic signal cabinet, wiring additional pedestrian phases.
This work is expected to be completed, and the signal turned on before the evening commute.
