Concrete And Asphalt Repairs Closing Lanes On I-29 Soon

Some Drivers on Interstate 29 are about to encounter a new traffic headache

Beginning Wednesday (July 8), a lane closure will go into effect on I-29 from mile marker 70 to 62 (Tea/Harrisburg to Worthing), and on South Dakota Highway 115 for three miles near Dell Rapids.

The closure will allow crews to repair damaged concrete and asphalt sections along the driving lanes and shoulders on both I-29 and Highway 115.

The planned lane closures are part of a $2.4 million project and are expected to remain in place through mid-November.

Motorists should be prepared for delays during repair operations, especially during morning and afternoon commute times. Drivers are asked to be aware of construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes, and to slow down through the work zone.
