Apple Juice Sold in Iowa and 15 Other States Recalled
Apple juice sold in Iowa and several other states is being recalled due to concerning levels of inorganic arsenic.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says 64-ounce plastic bottles of Nature's Nectar 100% Apple Juice are being pulled from store shelves.
The impacted products have best-by dates of March 26, 2025, and March 27, 2025, with the UPC code: 4099100036381.
The juice was sold at Aldi stores in Iowa and 15 other states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
According to the FDA, current research indicates that inorganic arsenic is more dangerous than organic arsenic.
Long-term exposure in adults has been affiliated with skin disorders, increased risks of skin, bladder, and lung cancers, and cardiovascular disease.
Short-term exposure can cause nausea, vomiting, bruising, and numbness or burning sensation in the hands and feet.
10,000 cases of Great Value brand apple juice, sold by Walmart in 25 states, are also being recalled. None of those products were sold at Walmarts in South Dakota, Iowa, or Minnesota.
