Watch Out For Recalled Spinach Linked To Listeria Concerns From Minnesota Company
A Listeria scare has prompted a frozen spinach recall, which includes products from a Minnesota company.
The U.S. Food & Drug Administration says the spinach was sold nationwide under the Del Mar and Sno Pac brands.
Sno Pac is based in Caledonia, Minnesota.
What is Being Recalled?
The impacted products were sold at both retail stores and through distributors. Sno Pac Foods has suspended production of its spinach while it investigates the source of the Listeria contamination.
The two recalled the following information that can identify spinach products:
- 35-pound box of Del Mar Organic Frozen Spinach with lot codes 250107A, 250107B, 250107C, 250107D, 2501071, and 2501073, and an expiration date of Jan. 7, 2027.
- 10-ounce packages of Sno Pac Organic Frozen Cut Spinach with lot code SPM1.190.5 and "best by" date July 9, 2027; lot code SPC1.160.5 and "best by" date June 9, 2027; lot code SPC2.160.5 and "best by" date June 9, 2027; and lot code SPM1.097.5 and "best by" date April 7, 2027.
What to Watch For
Symptoms of a Listeriosis infection include fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. While Listeria can infect anyone, children, elderly individuals, those with weakened immune systems, pregnant women, and their newborns are at an increased risk of developing serious and sometimes fatal infections.
