Which is South Dakota’s Favorite Thanksgiving Side Dish?
- Turkey
- Gravy
- Stuffing
- Potatoes
- Sweet Potatoes
- Green Beans
- Corn
- Pumpkin Pie
But in South Dakota, we apparently like to add something more associated with Easter to our array of Thanksgiving side dishes.
According to the website Home Method, the Mount Rushmore State is one of four states in America that lists deviled eggs as the number-one accompaniment to our turkey dinner.
South Dakota, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Wyoming are all on the deviled egg bandwagon. And while that puts us in a distinct minority, it's not as exclusive as the deep-fried turkey club, which has just one member - Kentucky.
As for the more traditional things on our Thanksgiving table, Thrillist has ranked the side dishes from worst to best:
14. Corn
13. Green beans
12. Glazed Carrots
11. Roasted root vegetables
10. Rolls
9. Candied yams/sweet potatoes
8. Green bean casserole
7. Cornbread
6. Brussels sprouts
5. Gravy
4. Stuffing
3. Cranberry sauce
2. Macaroni & cheese
1. Mashed potatoes
