Sioux Falls Sandwich Shop Makes Midwest Living's Top Ten List

The sandwich selection at a downtown Sioux Falls restaurant has landed it in a very select group.

Midwest Living has compiled a list of the 10 Sandwich Shops So Good We'd Plan a Trip Around Them, and Bread & Circus Sandwich Kitchen made the cut, referring to it as the '...EPCOT of sandwich shops— a fast-casual world tour.'

Currently, Bread & Circus has eight items on its sandwich menu:

Vietnamese Fried Chicken - Buttermilk marinated fried chicken thigh, nuoc cham, banh mi pickles, cilantro aioli, Martin's sesame bun
Curried Cauliflower - Roasted cauliflower, yellow curry, red lentil hummus, arugula, cilantro, radish, naan
Falafel - Apricot amba, arugula, pickled onions, feta, pita or naan.
B&C Burger - Two certified Angus beef smash patties, New School American cheese, shredded lettuce, dill pickles, shaved onions, thousand island dressing, Martin's sesame bun
Pork Belly Gyro - Pork belly, kale, cherry tomatoes, tzatziki, goat cheese, naan
Roasted Turkey - House-brined & roasted turkey breast, gruyere, Caesar slaw, turmeric pickled onion, basil aioli, Breadico ciabatta
Seitalian - House Made Seitan Salami, Gruyère, giardiniera, local arugula, pickled pepper aioli, Breadico ciabatta
Pizzaiola Sandwich - house braised beef, fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, parmesan, arugula, basil aioli, Breadico

Gone But Not Forgotten - Iconic Sioux Falls: Whiffer's Sandwiches

The Merriam-Webster definition of iconic is "widely recognized and well-established." That would definitely describe Whiffer's Sandwiches which used to call North Minnesota Avenue home.

The gone but not forgotten sandwich shop was located in an old house at 1133 North Minnesota Avenue. It served sandwiches to Sioux Falls from November 1978 until the summer of 2020.
