Over the years, celebrity chef Guy Fieri has come to Iowa on a couple of occasions to showcase local restaurants on his popular Food Network show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

But later this month he'll be opening his own place in the Hawkeye State.

Sioux City's KCAU 9 is reporting that Guy Fieri’s Council Bluffs Kitchen & Bar will be opening at Harrah’s Council Bluffs Hotel & Casino, Monday, May 22.

According to Harrah's officials, the new restaurant will feature an outdoor patio that will be part of the hotel's Stir Cove concert venue.

The full menu for the Kitchen & Bar has yet to be released but officials confirm that Fieri's famous Trash Can Nachos will be one of the menu options.

The nachos feature Carne Asada, mild cheddar, Monterey jack, Oaxaca and asadero cheese, minced pickled jalapenos, Pico de Gallo, black beans, and Mexican crema.

Harrah’s is currently in the process of hiring cooks, bartenders, hosts, kitchen stewards, and sous chefs for the restaurant.

The Council Bluffs Kitchen & Bar location will be the franchise's 17th location. There are currently 11 restaurants in the United States, three in the United Arab Emirates, and one each in Mexico and South Africa.

Guy Fieri first rose to prominence after winning Food Network’s competition show, Next Food Network Star in 2006.

After that he was awarded own series, Guy’s Big Bite

His most popular show has been Diners, Drive Ins & Dives, which has traveled to all 50 states, highlighting local restaurants since it first went on the air in 2007. The show is now in its 36th season.
