South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota Get Their Very Own Condiment Packets
A very important part of any summer celebration is having the right selection of condiments to top your burgers, hot dogs, brats, and sandwiches.
Skimping on mustard, mayo, ketchup, onions, and relish can make even the best of functions a nightmare.
One company isn't introducing anything new into the condiment selection process, but they are making it more personal.
Heinz has rolled out individual packets of ketchup, mustard, ranch dressing, bbq sauce, and ever tatar sauce that are unique to each of the 50 states as part of their Saucemerica campaign.
The promotion asks customers to collect as many of the ketchup packets as they can and upload photos of said packets to the Saucemerica website for a chance to win up to $100,000.
The limited-edition packets are being distributed at restaurants, theaters, stadiums, and drive-thrus, among other places.
South Dakota's packet is tatar sauce in honor of the state fish - the Walleye.
For Iowa, it's a mustard packet to celebrate the Pork Tenderloin Sandwich, which was created in the Czech neighborhoods of Cedar Rapids in the early 1900s.
One of Minnesota's most iconic food creations, the Juicy Lucy Burger, is celebrated with a ketchup packet for the North Star State.
