Drivers in Sioux Falls will encounter some traffic delays on a few of the city's busiest roads this week.

The City says South Cliff Avenue between 18th Street and 16th Street will have alternating lane closures. Traffic flow will remain open in both directions during the work, with a lane closure around the work zone as needed.

The lane closures will allow crews to collect geotechnical soil boring samples for an upcoming project.

Also impacted this week is the south side of West 33rd Street from Kiwanis Avenue to Minnesota Avenue. The lanes will closed as Xcel Energy will be replacing poles in the area.

At the same time, 10th Street between Minnesota Avenue and Second Avenue will have alternating lane closures. Two westbound traffic lanes will be maintained at all times during the work, with lane closures around the work zone as needed.

Crews will be collecting soil boring samples in the northern-most westbound lane and in the southern-most westbound lane of 10th Street.

All three of these projects are expected to be completed by Friday (January 31).

See How East 10th Street in Sioux Falls Has Changed

It's really interesting using Google Streetview to compare the changes from the earliest pictures to the latest.

For Sioux Falls, the earliest views are from 2008 and the latest from early 2022.

Some of the looks aren't the clearest, but it still gives a real good look at how dynamic the east side of Sioux Falls is.
