2026 Burger Battle: BibiSol [REVIEW]

There has never been a better time to be a burger lover than right now.

The 2026 Burger Battle continues in Downtown Sioux Falls through the end of January, and for the 13th annual event, your choices are more plentiful than ever.

This year, there are 50 different burgers to choose from, shattering last year's record of 39 entries.

Your involvement is pretty simple:

• Identify the burgers you want to try
• Show up hungry
• Eat
• Download the DTSF Passport app to your phone

• Find the burger in the app and rank it in five categories (Remember to enter the verification code provided to you by the restaurant)

This year's offering from BibiSol is the 'Smash Pastor'.

Here's the official description:

Two local grass-fed, finished all-beef patties marinated in annatto, topped with creamy Monterrey jack cheese, roasted pineapple relish, garlic aioli, and onion habanero curtido, served on a brioche bun. Served with a side of creamy poblano wedges topped with cotija cheese, local chive, and cilantro.

The first thing you notice when this arrives at your table is the size of the burger.

It is certainly enough to feed two people with a delicious brioche bun and just the right combination of toppings. Despite being seasoned with garlic and habanero, it is not overly spicy. Instead, the different flavors complement each other nicely, making this one of the best burgers we've tried.

If you're looking for a kick, the poblano potato wedges on the side deliver. If spicy isn't your thing, I highly suggest you sneak up on these and have a cold beverage standing by to help put out the fire in your mouth!
