
2025 South Dakota Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame Inductees Announced
The 2025 inductees to the South Dakota Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame were announced on Tuesday morning at the Washington Pavilion in downtown Sioux Falls. With much fanfare and introductions, the nominees are:
Bands:
Surfin' Safari - Surfin’ Safari is still entertaining in the 4 state area bringing your favorite hits of the 60s era to each venue. Their trademark “wall of sound” vocals bring the essence of the original recordings to every performance. As one of the last true working 60s groups, Surfin’ Safari is proud to play the music that started it all.
Crash Alley - The band formed in 1989 and toured non-stop across the country playing over 300 shows per year and built a rabid following of hard rock fanatics.
The Tracterz - Gaining fame in the mid 80s, the Tracterz have undoubtedly earned their place in music history.
Spooncat! - Founded in 1996, Spooncat toured for 10 years blending horns, vocals, percussion, and guitars for an intense R&B sound that brought many to the dance floor.

Lifetime Achievement: Mike English - A front man/lead vocalist for over 50 years, English has rocked the crowds with the bands ASIA, White Wing, Shells of Time, Solomon Kane, Midwest Coast and The Rising Suns to name a select few. Michael English continues to write, sing, perform and inspire.
Music Store: Flood Music - In the late 80s Flood Music opened on Phillips Avenue in downtown Sioux Falls. If you played music on your Hi-Fi or played in a band, Flood was the definitive meeting spot for artists and fans.
Radio Station: KTEQ - Volunteer driven and hosted, Rapid City's School of Mines radio station KTWQ embodies a variety of music and a haven where DJs can get their start.
Promoter: Pepper Entertainment - Johnson and his Pepper Team are one of the premier and fastest growing independent promoters in the country, producing national touring concerts in over 30 states and have brought a ton of great shows to Sioux Falls!
Disc Jockey: Crash - A born Minnesotan, Crash was instrumental in signing on 102.7, The Fox ( now B102.7) in Sioux Falls in 1996. He later began work on KBAD radio. Crash has helped promote JazzFest, Hot Harley Nights, RibFest, RiverFest, and more. He has also worked extensively with Cure Kids Cancer.
Production: John Bunker - His work in the art of production began in 1970s Hollywood. He has worked in many capacities in that industry, as audio and monitor mixer, equipment tech and tuner, also in stage manager and tour management positions.
“These artists and industry professionals helped define rock and roll in South Dakota—on stage, on the airwaves, and behind the scenes. We’re excited to welcome them into the Hall of Fame and continue our mission to celebrate, preserve, and nurture South Dakota’s rock legacy.” ~ SDRRMA President Michael Cornette.
