A one-block portion of a downtown Sioux Falls street will be unavailable to drivers this week.

Beginning Monday (August 5) North Dakota Avenue will be closed between Sixth Street and Main Avenue to allow crews to perform concrete repairs.

Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed within one week.

Also beginning Monday, two other lane closures go into effect around the city:

  • 57th Street - Eastbound lanes will be closed east of Sweetbriar Drive. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained in the westbound lanes. The work is expected to last one day.
  • Louise Avenue - Southbound left turn lane on South Louise Avenue, just north of West 85th Street. The work will be done overnight, starting at 8:00 PM and finishing prior to the morning commute. Tuesday evening (August 6) the outside northbound lane on South Louise Avenue will close just north of West 85th Street. The work will be done overnight, starting at 8:00 PM and finishing prior to the morning commute.

Later in the week, there will be additional lane closures:

  • Fourth Avenue - Beginning Tuesday (August 6), the two northbound lanes on North Fourth Avenue will be closed between East Amidon Street and East Maple Street to allow crews to perform concrete repairs. Northbound traffic will be shifted to allow for one lane of traffic in each direction. Weather permitting, all work is expected to be completed within one week.
  • 10th Street
