It's hard to imagine that just four years ago, there was a young driver who raced at Huset's Speedway, that is now a major name in NASCAR.

We are talking about Kyle Larson. He won Sunday's Auto Club 400 race in California. And furthermore, he is the very top driver in the premier professional racing series.

He leads the point standings as he did coming into the weekend. He had three consecutive second place finishes prior to Sunday's race.

Larson, now 24 years old, raced at Huset's Speedway in May of 2013. I interviewed him at the track and you can watch it on video.

"The California Kid" wins in his native state, and this marks his second Cup victory. He got his first last year at Michigan.

Larson endured four straight restarts to win at Fontana Sunday. He also won the Xfinity Series race on Saturday giving him a clean sweep of the weekend racing.

He won Sunday's Cup race from the pole. A strategy that paid off at the end was giving up the lead for a pit stop for fresh tires with just seven laps remaining. He soon got the top spot back and won a race that went into overtime.

Brad Keselowski finished second in the number 2 Ford, overcoming damage to his car suffered just after the green flag dropped. And this comes after a major fine and suspension was handed to his crew chief days ago.

Clint Bowyer was third, Martin Truex, Jr. fourth and Joey Logano fifth. See where your driver finished.
