Kevin Harvick came out on top Sunday (11/3) at a city known as Cowtown, that being Fort Worth, Texas, the home of Texas Motor Speedway. He took the checkered flag as the Texas sun was setting.

The mile and a half track in the Lone Star State has been good for Harvick as he wins his third consecutive Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoff race there.

Harvick led the most laps at 119 of the AAA Texas 500, but had to make a big comeback from a pit road penalty for having a tire placed in his pit box to early. The tire falling from the wall before his car arrived, forced him to the rear of the field, but he fought his way back to the front.

With victory, Harvick is now locked into the Championship 4 race two weeks prior to it's running at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Next, the series heads to Phoenix where Harvick struggled at the Spring race.

Now Harvick doesn't have to concern himself with the track out in the Arizona desert. He's got his spot in the championship hunt as he goes for his second title.

Harvick crossed the finish line 1.5 seconds ahead of Aric Almirola. Daniel Suarez was third followed by Joey Logano in fourth and Alex Bowman fifth. See where your driver finished.
