More Traffic Headaches Coming to I-229 in Sioux Falls
Drivers on Interstate 229 in Sioux Falls are about to spend a lot of time negotiating additional traffic headaches.
Starting Monday (July 8), the inside shoulders of both the northbound and southbound lanes of I-229 will be closed at the Cliff Avenue exit (Exit 4).
The work is all part of the modification of median crossovers and lane widening at the interchange. As the project continues, there will be additional lane and ramp closures.

Eventually, a temporary bridge will be built in preparation for an interchange reconstruction, which will happen sometime in 2025.
The first phase of the work is expected to be complete by December of this year.
