Larry (born Daniel Lawrence Whitney in 1963 in Pawnee City, Nebraska) began his standup career to limited success until he adopted 'The Cable Guy' persona and 'Git-R-Done' catchphrase in the early 2000's.

His big break came when he teamed up with Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Ron White on The Blue Collar Comedy Tour from 2000 to 2006.

During that time, Larry released his first comedy album, Lord, I Apologize in 2001, following it up with The Right to Bare Arms (2005) and Morning Constitutions (2007), which also featured a TV special. The last two were both nominated for a GRAMMY in the Best Comedy Album category.

In 2006, Larry lent his voice to the character 'Mater' in the Cars film series. He also appeared in the two sequels, Cars 2 (2011) and Cars 3 (2017).

In 2021, he appeared as 'Baby' on the Fox competition show, The Masked Singer.
