Another Temporary Off-Ramp Closure Coming to Interstate 90 in South Dakota
Road construction crews in South Dakota are officially in 'crunch time', as they try to wrap up ongoing projects before winter weather hits.
That includes the temporary closure of an off-ramp along Interstate 90 this week.
According to the South Dakota Department of Transportation, the off-ramp at the Humboldt exit (Exit 379) will be closed from 9:00 AM to the end of the day, Friday (November 8). Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route prior to reaching the exit, as there will not be a designated detour route in place.
The closure will allow crews to work on milling and asphalt overlaying as part of a $37.3 million project that is reconstructing the eastbound lanes of I-90 from one mile west of Humboldt (Exit 379) to Buffalo Ridge (Exit 390). The existing pavement will be removed and replaced with concrete surfacing, and the bridge over S.D. Highway 19 at Humboldt (Exit 379) will be replaced.
