Valley Fair’s Tricks and Treats October Weekends [REVIEW + PICS]
My 13 year old daughter and I decided "on a whim" to road trip to Shakopee, Minnesota. over the weekend to check out the Tricks and Treats weekend at Valley Fair. We were not disappointed! The entire park is decorated to reflect the Halloween season with gigantic displays and live music.
The entertainment was killer!
Some of our favorites included the witch's French chateau behind the Mad Mouse, Patch's Place costume contest, and the huge Jack-O-Lanterns lit up at dusk.
Musical and variety acts included the Candy Horns, Candy Ladies and Sugar Scouts, Bonfire Tales, and the Harvest Duet. A delightfully gross musical group called The Snots made us laugh and the Ghostbuster Crew - complete with green slime - interacted with children throughout the park. Trick-or-Treat stations were also set up across the park so there was no shortage of nougat, chocolate, and little sticky fingers.
The rides were open and the air was full of screams from the roller coasters. On a personal note, my daughter and I took 17 roller coaster rides. Yes...that would be a personal best for both of us :) We tamed the Wild Thing, Renegade, High Roller, Delirious, Steel Venom, Mad Mouse, SuperCat, Wheel of Fortune, and more.
Overall, it was an amazing day and the weather was perfect for hoodies and flavored coffees.
I would highly suggest taking a family road trip to Valley Fair on the weekends in October. We made a ton of memories and between naps, my daughter talked about it all the way home.
