What began as a bizarre video a year ago has now become an even more bizarre reality in the food world.

Food giant Oscar Mayer is now offering a hot dog straw.

You read that right - an Oscar Mayer wiener with a hole in the middle so that you can use it to consume your favorite beverage.

So who do we blame for this?

The whole hot dog straw craze began last season with this fan at a Yankees-Mets game in New York City 'MacGyvering' his own drinking creation and like most things on social media, the response was over the top.

Oscar Mayer is now trying to capitalize on the buzz by giving away free hot dog straws on their website.

But there's a catch.

What you'll actually be getting, if you're lucky enough to snag one, isn't an actual frank, rather it's a silicone creation that looks like the real thing, but it's reusable.
