It's one of the first things you see when you crest that hill into a small town. The water tower and usually a few majestic church steeples. Since the town's water tower serves an important purpose and is a recognizable landmark it needs to be nice looking and really stand out.

The residents and city leaders of Volga, South Dakota are feeling a bit proud of their water tower these days as just earned finalist status in the 2023 Tank of the Year competition sponsored by Tnemec Company, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance coatings.

In fact, the Volga water tower is so cool, that it will be featured in the 2024 water tank calendar which features tanks from the entire United States and Canada!

“The tanks in this year’s contest highlighted the hometown pride and overall ingenuity from many towns all across the United States and Canada.” ~ Brian Cheshire, Director of the Water Tank Market.

According to a Tnemec Company, Inc. press release, over 320 water towers across North America were nominated, so yeah, it's a big deal.

You can help celebrate this magnificent achievement by ordering your 2024 Tank of the Year Calendar here.

Volga's water tower features a team of horses pulling a steel plow, indicative of the hard work of caring for the land and producing crops.
