Ten Alternative Sites Proposed for New South Dakota Prison
The next step in securing land for a proposed new South Dakota penitentiary takes place in Springfield on Tuesday (April 29).
That's when Governor Larry Rhoden's Project Prison Reset Task Force meets to discuss alternate sites to the original planned Lincoln County location.

Ten different proposals have been submitted for consideration from all over Eastern South Dakota.
ALTERNATE SOUTH DAKOTA PRISON SITES
The Project Prison Reset Task Force meeting is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Tuesday at the Springfield Community Center.
The 22-member group is expected to finish its work this summer before making a recommendation to a special legislative session in July.
