South Dakota, Iowa Have Some of America’s Shortest Commute Times
Sometimes living in our part of the world means doing without some of the things that come with the trappings of bigger places around the country.
But that's not always a bad thing.
Take traffic for instance. Every place has some, but around here it is far more manageable than in a lot of other states.
That's why it's not a huge surprise that two states in the Tri-State Area (South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota) have some of the shortest commutes in America
Researchers from storial.media looked at data on windshield time in all 50 states and came up with a list that reveals which have the shortest one-way commute times.
South Dakota is right there are the top of the list with an average commute time of just 17.4 minutes, which is almost half of the national average (26.9 minutes).
It was just last year that a South Dakota city actually topped the list of shortest commutes (Aberdeen - 10.9 minutes)
Neighboring Iowa is also one of eight states with an average commute time of less than 20 minutes each way. The Hawkeye State's average commute is 19.7 minutes, which is seventh-best in the nation.
