Sioux Falls Traffic Sting Nets a Massive Number of Tickets, Arrests
When you're driving in and around Sioux Falls, it doesn't take long for you to come to the realization that our once relatively safe roads are a lot more dicey these days.
Local law enforcement has been paying attention as well, and they're trying to do something to cut down on racing, speeding, and dangerous driving in the Sioux Empire.
Earlier this month (April 11), five different local agencies combined forces for a traffic saturation patrol:
- Sioux Falls Police Department
- South Dakota Highway Patrol
- Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office
- Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office
- Minnehaha County Reserve Officers

The results of one day's work on the roads were opening:
· Total citations: 192
· Warnings: 75
· Total Arrests: 11
· Drug Arrests: 2
· DWI Arrests: 4
Authorities say more saturation patrols are planned in 2025. No word on when those will happen.
