The good news, there's an end in sight to road construction projects around Sioux Falls.  The bad news, soon those brand new roads will be covered in snow.

KSFY is reporting that only two construction projects will be ongoing into 2020, the Interstate I-229 project and 69th Street from Tallgrass Avenue to Louise Avenue.

According to KSFY, crews have laid the beams on the bridge over I-229 and will begin pouring concrete soon.  The city doesn't anticipate any more closures of the interstate.

KSFY reports that the construction project on Minnesota Avenue between 11th Street and 18th Street should wrap up by the end of October.  All other minor projects should be finished by year's end.

Brad Ludens, a principal engineer for the city says:

Everything is on schedule, and the only projects going into next year were planned to go into next year.  It has taken a lot of team effort between the city and contractors to fight the weather this summer, but everything is on track.

Visit the city's website for updates on construction projects.
