Sioux Falls Chef Applies To Be On ‘Shark Tank’
Sanaa Abourezk is the owner of Sanaa's 8th Street Gourmet in downtown Sioux Falls.
Sanaa's 8th Street Gourmet is a Mediterranean restaurant with menu items like Chicken Tahini, Shish Tawook, and Kufta Kabobs. Everything is scratch-made and the restaurant offers vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.
The restaurant also offers take-and-bake Mediterranean meals. Those meals are the pitch that Sanaa is hoping to make to The Sharks on ABC's Shark Tank.
Just think, frozen Mediterranean Meals from Sanaa's could be available nationwide!
On Sanaa's Twitter, she recently posted that she's applied for the show!
Obviously, it will take some time to find out if she will be picked to appear on the show.
However, Sanaa is no stranger to national TV. Back in 2016, she was on Food Network's Beat Bobby Flay! You can see the full episode, here.
Sanaa didn't come away with the win on that show. Bobby Flay is a tough one to beat!
Sanaa definitely has the experience and knowledge to pitch to The Sharks. She has a Bachelor's degree from Damascus University, a Master's degree from California State Polytech University, and attended culinary school in Florence, Italy as well as the Corden Bleu Baking School in Paris, France.
Sanaa has also been a nutrition and health adviser to the South Dakota Department of Health.
She's organized many fundraisers for various causes, most recently there was an effort to raise money for World Central Kitchen to help refugees from Ukraine.
