Lynyrd Skynyrd to Perform in South Dakota Twice This Summer
You'll have not one, but two chances to see the legendary Lynyrd Skynyrd perform this summer in South Dakota.
First up is the Buffalo Chip Campground in Sturgis on August 8 as part of the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in the Black Hills. Adding to the rock n' roll fuel that night will be Blackberry Smoke. Tickets are $60 and you can order them securely here.
This will be one of the hottest night for southern rock this summer.
Up next is the South Dakota State Fair in Huron September 2, 2017. According to South Dakota State Fairgrounds manager Peggy Besch, "We have been trying to get Lynyrd Skynyrd to the fair for a few years now so when they confirmed, we were extremely happy. They have so many recognizable hits and are an incredible rock and roll group. We look forward to hosting them. Come Saturday night at the SD State Fair, we look forward to seeing a grandstand packed full of people.”
General public ticket sales will begin June 26. Tickets are listed for $40 standing and $45 reserved seating.
Special guest Alex Williams, who jokingly describes himself as a "writer and singer of songs", will open the night.
Whichever night you choose to go, make sure you don't miss Lynyrd Skynyrd's classics "Sweet Home Alabama," “Freebird,” “Simple Man,” “What’s Your Name,” “Saturday Night Special” and “Tuesday’s Gone.”
