January Best Buys Reflect New Year’s Resolutions
If you held off on buying the fitness equipment you wanted because you were busy buying presents for everyone else, good for you! Not just because you're a giver, but because January is a great month to save on the treadmill or elliptical you want. Even the bathroom scale to measure your New Year progress is on sale.
I know a lot of people make a habit of getting in on Black Friday and pre-Christmas sales on televisions, but again, if you held off, you're wiser than you know. Televisions are deeply discounted in the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl, (which will be played on February 3rd this year) so now is a good time to start looking.
For most people, Consumer Reports suggests getting a high-def TV and the bigger the room, the bigger the TV, especially if you're sitting 8 to 10 feet from the tube. (I can just about imagine the conversations people will be having; "But honey, Consumer Reports says we need a bigger TV!")
I received a food processor last Christmas and fell in love with it! Fruit smoothies became a thing for me as soon as summer rolled around and I made Christmas cookies in it this year. Chopping veggies or nuts, making tuna salad, soups, you name it, I've used it for everything and have no idea how I got along without one.
For someone embarking on a health journey, now is the time to buy a food processor for yourself. You could spend as little as $13 for a basic chopper or a gazillion for something really snazzy. The bigger they are, the heavier (and likely more expensive) they are and the more room they take up. But the good thing is they are also deeply discounted this month.
Consumer Reports has a complete list of items which are good buys this month. So as they say, (whoever they are) "figure out what you need, not just what you want", do your due-diligence, homework-wise, and start shopping.
