Costco Shakes Things Up With New Membership Benefits

There's an adage in life that membership has its perks.

But as loyal customers of Costco are about to find out, not all memberships come with the same privileges.

The warehouse chain is giving the gift of time to its Executive Members.

The new perk

Beginning June 30, customers who pay the additional $65 per year to belong to Costco will get early access to the stores.

Get up early

Executive Members can start shopping as early as 9:00 AM local time every day, and have the store to themselves for up to an hour before other customers. (Saturdays, the exclusive window only lasts until 9:30 AM).

Early shopping is the latest perk for Executive members, who already receive 2% cash back on all purchases and discounts on other Costco services.

More perks

There is another perk on the way.

The company also says that Executive members will soon receive 'a $10 monthly credit to use on an eligible sameday.costco.com or Costco via Instacart order over $150.'
