Country Music Took Over Lallycooler Music Festival in Sioux Falls
The first-ever Lallycooler Music Festival finally took place in Sioux Falls! We have been excited for this weekend since the local festival was announced last year. And thanks to the hard-working efforts of both the Washington Pavilion and Great Bear Ski Valley, this dream of bringing festivals back to the Sioux Empire became a reality.
Officials stated that the Lallycooler Music Festival "will be the coolest thing you'll do all summer." They weren't kidding. The Sioux Empire witnessed two epic nights of live music from all genres. Here's a look at the first Lallycooler Music Festival line-up:
Night One of Lallycooler Music Festival
- Confederate Railroad
- Tyler Braden
- Redferrin
- Headliner: Sam Hunt
Night Two of Lallycooler Music Festival
- Kory and The Fireflies
- Frank Ray
- Uncle Kracker
- TLC
- Headliner: Pitbull
The first night of the Lallycooler Music Festival was dedicated to country music fans. We were able to snap pictures and take videos of the entire evening. So if you missed your opportunity this year to be at the local festival, this gives you an idea of what to expect for next year's big weekend.
Day 1 of the Lallycooler Music Festival in Sioux Falls
To kick off the first-ever Lallycooler weekend, Confederate Railroad got the party started! They were excited to be the first band to take the stage.
Arguably, "Queen of Memphis" is Confederate Railroad's signature song. It peaked at #2 when it was released in 1992. Everyone was dancing along to this song!
Confederate Railroad is known for its upbeat songs. But "Jesus and Mama" hits differently for the group. This was the group's second single from their debut album in 1992.
Day 1 of the Lallycooler Music Festival in Sioux Falls
Rising Country singer Tyler Braden was next at the Lallycooler Music Festival. This is Tyler's second trip to the Sioux Empire this year! He traveled to Flandreau in February. I'm sure he was a fan of the warmer weather.
Day 1 of the Lallycooler Music Festival in Sioux Falls
In a surprising twist, Tyler Braden performed a cover song of "Iris" from the Goo Goo Dolls. He told the crowd he had many musical influences, but this is the song that changed his life.
"Devil You Know" is the song that changed Tyler's music career. He's been in the music industry since 2019, and now this song has been streamed on YouTube over 17 million times.
Day 1 of the Lallycooler Music Festival in Sioux Falls
"Mornin' Montana" was written on a bus waking up in Montana. It's simple and peaceful. This was one of my favorite songs from the night.
In honor of his first major hit song, Redferrin was enjoying Jack Daniels and Diet Coke. Sioux Falls was singing along with Redferrin, too!
Day 1 of the Lallycooler Music Festival in Sioux Falls
Sam Hunt closes out the first night of Lallycooler, and Sioux Falls couldn't be more excited to see him! His first song was his 2014 hit song "Ex To See."
Day 1 of the Lallycooler Music Festival in Sioux Falls
Friday night with Sam Hunt brought back so many music memories. He was my first-ever country concert. So songs like "Leave The Night On" bring me back to those first moments.
Day 1 of the Lallycooler Music Festival in Sioux Falls
Sam Hunt is such a great entertainer. He played all the favorites for Sioux Falls. "Hard to Forget" is a fun summer song.
This is probably one of my favorite songs from Sam Hunt. His band did a great job interacting with the crowd all night, especially with this song.
Day 1 of the Lallycooler Music Festival in Sioux Falls
Every artist or band has a signature song. In my opinion, Sam Hunt's signature song is "Take Your Time" from 2014. Sam even co-wrote the song. It reached #1 on the charts after it was released as a single. I love this song, so the person singing in the video is me (haha).
Okay, last video from Night 1 of Lallycooler in Sioux Falls. Do you remember this song from Sam Hunt?
There ya have it! The first night of the Lallycooler Music Festival was a success. What's Night 2 going to be like? Stay tuned for more!
