You Can Help Sioux Falls Woman Make ‘Blessing Bags’ for Homeless
With summer almost in the rearview mirror, winter will be making a comeback in South Dakota before we know it.
South Dakota winters can be challenging, especially for the homeless population across the state. One local Sioux Falls woman is trying to make cold winter days easier for the homeless by giving them a special bag.

Savannah Walter from Sioux Falls is on a mission to help the homeless residents of the Sioux Empire right before the cold air hits. The plan is to distribute "Blessing Bags" to the homeless with essential supplies for winter, including snacks, bathroom supplies, and warm gear.
Savannah knows she has a big task ahead, and she's looking for extra help through a GoFundMe page.
In her post on GoFundMe, Savannah explains she collected donations for Blessing Bags last year with the help of the community and local media. She's hoping that support can continue for her collection this year.
I am so fortunate to have everything I need, but I know that's not the case for several houseless people in Sioux Falls. Before the cold winter months come, I wanted to make and distribute more blessing bags for houseless people in our community. Please help if you are able! Thank you :)
Monetary donations are great! But there are other items Savannah needs to fill the new Blessing Bags.
- Shampoo
- Toothbrush
- Hat
- Gloves
- Small First Aid kits
- Hand Lotion
- Bottle of Water
