Officials with Custer State Park in South Dakota are proud to announce that the first baby bison calf of the season has arrived. Happy spring South Dakota days are coming!

We're so lucky to have a gorgeous park like Custer State Park in South Dakota. Custer State Park is the largest and first state park in South Dakota. There's literally something for everyone to enjoy: Camping, hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, or just relaxing.
It's home to many wildlife like big horn sheep, burrowing owls, coyotes, or mountain lions. But the gems of Custer State Park are the beautiful bison. Over 1,300 bison are inside Custer State Park, and many tourists venture out west just to see them.

One of the most exciting days at Custer State Park is when baby bison are born at the park. In a new Facebook post, officials with Custer State Park did confirm the birth of the first calf of the season. This baby is pretty cute, too!
There could be more baby bison on the way! Just remember to keep your distance.
