Guy "Mayor Of Flavortown" Fieri is known for his television shows on the Food Network like Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. This show features local joints across the country.

Until a few years ago, the only state that wasn't featured was South Dakota. That all changed when Guy made a trip to the Sioux Empire in June of 2020.

Guy paid a visit to five restaurants throughout the Sioux Empire: Urban ChislicO So Good (Formerly in Garretson), Lalibela EthiopianBread and Circus, and Looks Marketplace.

But, which one was Guy's favorite spot in South Dakota? Furthermore, what about Guy Fieri's favorite Minnesota stop? He's been to MN about 20 times

Guy tells his favorite Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives from every state in a new article from Mashed.

But there is one restaurant that sticks out from the rest! Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge in Minneapolis is apparently the best Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives in Minnesota. Guy paid a visit to the restaurant in 2007 and made an appearance on the show in October.

So what's the best Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives in South Dakota? The answer is...O So Good which was formerly in Garretson. Mashed says this is the place for the spicy and flavorful jerk chicken and Shrimp Cheesy Hot Plate.

Unfortunately, this local favorite no longer exists. The restaurant closed in July of 2021, just over a year after the establishment was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

I had a chance to enjoy a meal O So Good during its final hurrah. See all the delicious food I ordered at the restaurant. It was a very satisfying dinner!

Food Network Shows That Have Been To South Dakota

Living here in the upper midwest we are don't end up on national TV shows very often. That's probably a good thing in the long run.

But it is pretty cool when something from South Dakota is on TV. Three shows from the Food Network family of shows have showcased South Dakota restaurants.

You may remember when Guy Fieri and Diners Drive-ins and Dives was in Sioux Falls in June of 2020 to visit some of our city's unique establishments.

A few years ago the Travel Channel Show Food Paradise visited Deadwood.

If you remember the 'golden age' of Foot Network, back when Rachel Ray was the queen of the channel, she took her show $40 a Day to Rapid City in 2005.
