FYI…The District Warns Sioux Falls Area of New Ticket Scams
There is no shortage of concerts coming to Sioux Falls and South Dakota concerts of the year. But some shows are getting plenty of attention for the wrong reasons.
Late last week, The District in Sioux Falls alerted concert and eventgoers of new ticket and contest scams.
Shows coming to The District soon include Gavin DeGraw, Comedian Trey Kennedy, and country group Parmalee. Since there is excitement around these shows and events at The District, they wanted to celebrate National Concert Week by doing ticket giveaways. This fun contest for music lovers turned into a nightmare for some.

In a post on its Facebook page, staff at The District warned future contest winners about scammers impersonating their Facebook page and reaching out to individuals who signed up for the recent contests.
These scammers will stop at nothing. The District wants to be very clear: They NEVER ask for winners' credit card information or to click on a link to claim prizes.
Fake accounts with our name and profile picture do exist. These accounts will often have typos in their messages, few friends/followers on their page and have made few posts. Please use your diligence if you are unsure of the legitimacy of an account.
We enjoy giving tickets away on social media and hope to soon find a way to avoid the issue of fake accounts.
