5000 Americans, representing all 50 states, shared their grilled cheese habits. The national average for number of grilled cheese sandwiches per year? A satisfying 36 grilled cheese sandwiches per year.
How Many Grilled Cheese Sandwiches Do Minnesotans Eat Per Year?
But only one state can claim that they eat more grilled cheese than all the rest, Minnesotans eat an average of 41 grilled cheese sandwiches per year, ranking just about New York and Texas who consume an average of 40 per year. Washington state eats only about half of what Minnesotans do, with a total of 24 per year.
What is The #1 Cheese That is Used on Grilled Cheese Sandwiches?
When it comes to the top cheese being used to make grilled cheese sandwiches, American is the top pick, followed by cheddar, and pepper jack. The most important factor in making a grilled cheese, is the bread-to-cheese ratio, according to 43% of Americans.
How Do Americans Cut Their Grilled Cheese Sandwiches?
When it comes to the finished product and how Americans cut their grilled cheese, a majority, 52%, say that they cut their sandwich diagonally, while 21% say they cut vertically, 10% horizontally, and 17% say they don't even bother cutting the sandwich before eating.
