When it was announced that Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks would be leaving the Allman Brothers Band at the end of the year, everyone thought Gregg Allman would start tryouts for the replacements and soldier on as they always had.

Even when he announced a couple months later that the band was going to end and everyone would continue with their own projects, fans still wanted to believe that it wasn't the end.

Our fears were confirmed this morning as the Allman Brothers have announced the make up dates from their annual March Madness run at New York's Beacon Theatre. The had to cancel several shows when Gregg was hospitalized.

They've announced the make up dates, but the bigger bombshell was that they will be the final shows ever for the Allman Brothers Band.

The four make-up shows will happen on October 21st, 22nd, 24th and 25th. They've also tacked on shows on the 27th and 28th, and those gigs will be the final times that the Allmans ever perform. The band has played the Beacon more than 230 times since starting their annual tradition there.

The Allmans' next show is Sunday at Mountain Jam in Hunter, New York.
