Wednesday, Dakota News Now reported that employees of Hibachi Grill Supreme Buffet in Sioux Falls were arrested and accused of "...conspiracy to harbor aliens, harboring aliens and aiding and abetting as well as forfeiture."

Why Did Hibachi Grill Supreme Buffet Close?

A History of Issues

The popular family-style buffet has certainly had its share of trouble in the past. In 2022 the U.S. Department of Labor seized and recovered $279,000 from Hibachi because they refused to pay overtime to employees.

In 2023, a full-out law enforcement raid occurred at the restaurant lasting more than 4 hours.

Also in 2023, Hibachi received an overall Health Food Inspection score of 80, which indicates multiple food safety violations. In 2018, Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet scored 74. The City of Sioux Falls likes to see a two-year average of 94.
