Here’s Your List of Things to Do This Weekend in Sioux Falls
There's a few things that came to mind when I saw the forecast for this weekend in Sioux Falls. Wow!
It's going to be a great day to build the new garden planters at Hayward Elementary School for Ground Works-Midwest.
On May 5, 2017 the kids at Hayward Elementary will be adding to their Ground Works-Midwest project by building seven more beds just in time for spring planting.
This teaching garden is an ongoing Ground Works-Midwest project that guides curriculum in our schools with hands-on learning.
Ground Works-Midwest has a goal of building 20 teaching gardens by 2020.
The Howard Wood Dakota Relays is this weekend at Howard Wood Field. Don't jinx it by reminiscing about past years bad weather.
The 92nd running of the Relays is scheduled for May 5 & May 6, 2017. More than 3,000 middle school, high school, college and university student athletes will be competing. The dedication of hundreds of volunteers, the financial support of area businesses and the outstanding facilities makes the Howard Wood Dakota Relays the meet of choice for many area track fans.
Don't forget the sunscreen.
After work today we'll be strolling downtown for First Friday and the Art Wine Walk. Just get a wrist band for $20 at your first stop and check out the stores with artists and wine.
Come downtown for the May First Friday Art & Wine Walk! A wide variety of artists and wine samples await, as you visit locations on both sides of the river in downtown Sioux Falls from 5:00 – 9:00 PM. Viewing the art and meeting artists is FREE, and for just $20, you'll get a wristband to enjoy sampling wine at each location. You can also purchase wine by the glass for $5. Wristbands can be purchased at any participating location on May 5, 2017 from 5:00 - 9:00 PM.
If you didn't realize it, it's Cinco de Mayo. And, the first Falls Park Farmers Market of the season is Saturday beginning at 8:00 AM.
The Falls Park Farmers Market will reopen on Saturday, May 6th. I can’t wait! We look forward to our weekly Saturday morning visits to enjoy the fresh flowers, herbs, and plants while sipping coffee and listening to the live music. Another nice thing, it’s rare that we leave hungry with all the food selections.
Take advantage of the beautiful weather and enjoy a Sioux Falls weekend.
