At over 200 feet, the Zip Feed Mill was the tallest occupiable structure in South Dakota from the day it was built in 1957. The grain elevator and feed mill was closed in 2000 and in 2005, it was scheduled to be demolished to make way for office and retail space.

So on December 3, thousands of us gathered near the site, standing on bridges in the cold waiting to see the structure come down. Except it didn't. Film crews were watching as well as crews underestimated how much explosives were needed and the mill basically dropped into the basement and stopped. So the leaning Zip Feed Mill became a part of Sioux Falls lore.

Crews spent the next two weeks with cranes and wrecking balls to finally take it down.
