After weeks of waiting, four adorable falcon chicks have made their first appearance in Minnesota.

The Peregrine falcon babies have been spotted on a Department of Natural Resources FalconCam, which is providing a live feed from a nest box in downtown St. Paul.

The eggs were laid sometime between March 31 and April 9 by a 12-year-old female, who, according to the Midwest Peregrine Society, fledged from St. Cloud and has nested in this box since 2016. She is accompanied by a 16-year-old male from Gary, Indiana.

The same pair used this nest box last year, when four eggs were laid and three hatched.

The typical incubation period for Peregrine falcon eggs is 33-35 days.
