A dead woman was discovered in a car on the south side of the Empire Mall in Sioux Falls Monday night around 7:00 PM.

According to our newsgathering partner, Dakota News Now, a call came from someone in the mall who said that their friend confessed to killing a woman.

When police arrived they found the body of a woman in the back of a car. The body appeared to have stab wounds.

According to authorities, the suspect was still in the Empire Mall when the police arrived. They think the murder happened at a different location in Minnehaha County and are working to find the crime scene.

The victim was identified as 23-year-old Emily Isabella Eirinberg of Sioux Falls.

The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Tyson Andrew Christians. According to Dakota News Now he is in custody.
