Northeastern South Dakota received several inches of rain on Thursday (June 12), enough to prompt Flood Warnings through a large area.

The Big Stone Sheriff's Department said in a Facebook post, "Inflow into the lake and wind conditions can significantly impact water levels at various points along the shoreline. We strongly encourage all lake shore property owners to monitor conditions closely over the next several days. Pay particular attention to wind, precipitation, and lake levels, and take appropriate action to raise docks and watercraft that may be on lifts to prevent damage." ~ Big Stone Sheriff's Department

Recent heavy rainfall across the watershed is expected to cause a rise in water levels on Big Stone Lake. Large logs were also reported floating on the lake on social media.

According to Artie's Bait & Tackle - Econo Lodge Hotel, Big Stone Lake has received 7.6 inches of rain. Boat docks and lifts will be affected.

Video was captured of a floating propane tank. That can't be good.
