Close on the heels of a multi-state salmonella outbreak linked to ground beef, comes the news of a voluntary recall of over 100 vegetable products from the Mann Packing Company. Mann was notified by the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) in the U.S. and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency of "potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes".

So far no illnesses have been reported, but out of an abundance of caution, they are asking that anyone who has purchased these products, throw them away, or return them to the store where you bought them.

Brands impacted by the recall, sold in the U.S. and Canada, are: Mann’s, Del Monte, Trader Joe’s, Signature Farms, O Organics, HEB, Hungryroot, Kroger Organic, Marketside, Signature Farms, and Sysco.

Listeria can cause serious illness in children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems. But a perfectly healthy person can also become very sick. Symptoms include:

fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, as well as miscarriage and stillbirth among pregnant women.

These products all have a "Best If Enjoyed By Date" of October 11 to November 16, 2019.

For a complete list of products and pictures of said items see Mann Packing Company on this website.
