Students in the Sioux Falls School District will continue to have access to dental care at a dozen different schools.

The district, along with Falls Community Health and Delta Dental of South Dakota, has extended a partnership that provides on-site preventive, diagnostic, and restorative care to students who lack access to or cannot afford dental care.

Since 2004, the program’s dental truck, staffed by two dental operatories, a dentist, a hygienist, two dental assistants, and a coordinator, has traveled to area schools in one- week stints to provide dental exams, cleanings, sealants, X-rays, and restorative treatments on site.

The mobile dental unit currently makes stops at the following schools:

  • Washington High School
  • Lincoln High School
  • Jefferson High School
  • Roosevelt High School
  • Axtell Park High School
  • Whittier Middle School
  • George McGovern Middle School
  • Lowell Elementary School
  • Laura B. Anderson Elementary School
  • Anne Sullivan Elementary School
  • Cleveland Elementary School
  • Garfield Elementary School
