It started with a robbery in Valley Springs early this morning and ended four hours later near Harrisburg with a Chancellor man in custody. In between, there was a chase across state lines, shots fired, planes involved in tracking and luckily, no injuries.

Authorities were called following the robbery this morning when a witness got the license plate of the vehicle. Authorities found out that the car was stolen and tried to stop them, but the suspect rammed a Minnehaha County deputy's vehicle, and then shots were fired.

The suspect then went into Lyon County, Iowa and back to Lincoln County where he was arrested in a field along Highway 11 about 11:15 Friday morning.

Tyson Shawn Wessels of Chancellor has been charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and third degree burglary.
